3. Years Shooting
4. Years Shooting Film
I started to learn photography from high school. In the beginning, I learned about film photography and learned darkroom techniques. The first camera in my life was the NIKON FM2 that my mother bought for me. Since then I have been fascinated by the mechanical negative film camera. I like the feeling of combining with the body when shooting.
5. Why Film?
A few years ago, my ex-girlfriend sent me some expired negatives. I used those outdated film to shoot our trip. Because the film has expired, the washed out photos are dull and rough, and it looks like it has been a long time. We separated soon after, it was my first love. Looking back at these photos, I was surprised that this picture seemed to predict something, which made me feel the magic of the film, so I continued to take pictures with the film.
6. Why Halfframe?
Because the film half the film is exactly the specifications of the film during the silent period，35mm specifications come from movies with 35mm film，It is also the original specification of 35mm film.
7. What's your favorite Halfframe camera? What are your favorite films with halfframe? What's your favorite combo?
The favorite is the half-size film monocular camera of the OLYMPUS PEN-F series. With the KODAK VISION3 500T, the cinematic film is very tolerant and can capture almost any scene.
8. What are you trying to do or show with your halfframe work?
I am currently filming my hometown, Fuzhou. This is an area bordering the city because the city plan is changing. I want to record my hometown.
9. When you aren't shooting halfframe you are shooting...
Shoot using your phone.
10. Anything else you'd like us to know about you? Where to follow you beside on IG, etc.
In addition to shooting half-film negatives, I also used the mobile phone to take pictures of everyday life. Perhaps the video shot with a cell phone is the closest to life... I'm still trying this part. This is an IG account I just shot with my mobile phone @songshinwang
